Another hardware issue?

Hello

Recently bought this device. I did put in a UMTS SIM-card that works perfectly well in a GlobeTrotter GT MAX HSUPA.

I can charge the battery without problems. On switch on the RED LED comes on switches briefly to GREEN and then stays RED.

The BLUE WIFI LED then switches on and even starts to blink: my laptop sees the MiFi network, but cannot connect to it.

Is this yet another hw-failure, wrong SIM, anything?

Any suggestions are appreciated, I hate to go trough the hassle of returning the device but if need be ...

Hi,

I had a similar problem red-shot green-red led status. The issue was that for the SIM the PIN-query was activated. Try first to deactivate the PIN-query with an other umts-device or try to connect to http://www.mifi/ from your computer (this was possible in my situation). Use the password ad go to the button Internet/SIM and insert your pin or deactivate the PIN-query.

Hello,

I did try these steps myself, but to no avail.

So I had a phone conversation with one of the service folks at expansys.nl. After a short and friendly discussion on the problem there was decided a return of the gizmo was the best option.

This return service was completely managed by Expansys: by email they sent me the necessary forms and within 2 hours the courier from TNT was at my doorstep! Now just 6 days later I received a new MiFi.

And this one works out of the box as it should! It was a disappointment that the first one was faulty, but the quick and adaequate service to replace it without any hazzle is to be praised.

A very happy customer  :)
